About this role

AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC LEADER Charleston AFB, South Carolina Summary Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards. Duties - Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers. - Performs work. Performs nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work. - Leads removal and replacement of aircraft engines to flight configuration; hooks up power sources; and using flight station controls and gauges and additional precision instruments, checks operations of such items on pre/post engine runs; and ensures systems for performance and conformance to operational specifications. - Ensures the use and maintenance of tools and test equipment required to accomplish duties. - Leads and assists with aircraft mechanic common tasks such as towing, refueling, jacking, and opening/closing hangar doors.
