About this role
Deputy Administrator, Office of Unemployment Insurance Washington, District of Columbia Summary This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration. Duties Provides executive leadership in the overall management, strategic direction, and coordination of the Office of Unemployment Insurance to support national Unemployment Insurance (UI) program operations and agency priorities. Oversees strategic planning, performance monitoring, resource allocation, and front-office operations to ensure effective program execution and alignment with organizational goals. Leads innovation and modernization of the Unemployment Insurance system, including digital transformation, data improvement efforts, business process redesign, and initiatives that strengthen program integrity and reduce fraud. Directs the development, integration, and implementation of national policies, standards, and procedures related to UI program operations, performance, and compliance. Engages with state and federal partners, congressional staff, external stakeholders, and senior Department of Labor officials to communicate priorities, coordinate policy, resolve issues, and advance program improvements. Provides leadership in personnel management by fostering a collaborative, innovative, and equitable work environment, supporting staff development, and effectively managing conflict and organizational change.
