About this role

Assistant United States Attorney (Civil Bankruptcy) Multiple Locations Summary The United States Attorney's Office (USAO), Southern District of Florida (SDFL) is seeking experienced attorneys to handle litigation in Bankruptcy Courts in the Southern District of Florida. Duties If selected, you will be working with a team consisting of another full time Bankruptcy AUSA and two full time Bankruptcy paralegals to practice before all federal bankruptcy courts in this District. The cases you will handle consist of creditor side bankruptcy representation of other federal agencies, such as the Internal Revenue Service, the Small Business Administration and the Department of Education, in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 proceedings under the United States Bankruptcy Code, and related adversary proceedings. You will be assigned cases to litigate from inception to completion as the sole attorney representing those federal agencies in bankruptcy court. to preserve said agencies' claims to payment from the bankruptcy estate. Your responsibilities will increase and become more complex as your training and experience progress.
