Supervisory Transportation Specialist Washington, District of Columbia Summary This position is located in Response and Recovery/Transportation Division. The ideal candidate for this position will ensure development of short and long term strategic plans for transportation of resources and personnel; experience in scheduling and tracking all modes of transportation (air, sea, ground); experience with movement control operations; familiarity with government procurement and contracting processes. Duties What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Transportation Specialist. Typical assignments include: Reviewing and developing analysis of transportation functional and operational requirements to help determine the development work to be contracted. Managing and overseeing the commercial contracts of the movement of resources, supplies, and equipment as well as the disaster maintenance contracts for agency vehicles. Ensuring the development and operation of an effective transportation information reporting and tracking system. Overseeing the development and utilization of specialized computer programs and databases to identify transportation issues and analyzes solutions to transportation problems.
