Supervisory Policy Analyst Washington, District of Columbia Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans (PLCY), Counterterrorism & Homeland Threats (CTHT). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position. Duties The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supervisory Policy Analyst directing policy development related to DHS's use of biometrics and other identity verifcation and management techniques and technologies. As a Supervisory Policy Analyst, GS-0301-15, your typical work assignments may include: Develops, coordinates and evaluates identity management, verification and/or intelligence policies, particularly those utilizing biometrics. Works with DHS operational Components, program management offices and technical entities to align DHS capabilities to best mitigate identified threats and vulnerabilities. Ensures policy and program development across the Department complies with relevant guidance, laws and reporting requirements. Assesses the applicability of new and emerging biometric and identity management technologies to the DHS Mission while weighing potential privacy and civil liberties consequences of their adoption.
