About this role
Physical Scientist (Latent Print Analyst) Washington, District of Columbia Summary Joining the Secret Service, Office of Field Operations, Forensic Service Division will allow you to safeguard the nation's financial infrastructure and protect national and visiting foreign leaders by conducting forensic examinations in support of criminal investigations and protective intelligence operations. Duties The selectee will serve as a Physical Scientist (Latent Print Analyst) in the Office of Field Operations, Forensic Service Division. Typical work assignments include: Performing physical science work by applying established scientific methods and standardized protocols to process, examine, and evaluate latent print evidence. Assisting in the sequential processing of evidence, carefully selecting techniques based on scientific suitability, laboratory procedures, and case parameters. Preparing technical notes, contributing to laboratory reports, and presenting scientific information to peers, supervisors and law enforcement personnel. Assisting in coordinating casework with other laboratory units to ensure the proper sequencing of examinations and compliance with technical and administrative requirements.
