Network IT Specialist Alexandria, Virginia Summary This vacancy is for a GS-2210-12, Network IT Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, C5ISC NETWORK SECTION in ALEXANDRIA, Virginia. Duties You will serve as an Network IT Specialist and be responsible for managing information technology projects. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Network knowledge, to include concepts, configuration, experience for routine tasking during the workday. Compliance knowledge for cybersecurity and accreditation support for frequent tasking during the workday. Baseline and change management experience to support for frequent tasking during the workday. Communication and coordination with internal and/or external customers for Customer Service for frequent tasking during the workday. Managing information and documentation changes to support network changes, compliance, and communication for occasional tasking during the workday. Able to self manage and proactively address problems before they have escalated and/or caused a critical outage event. Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position. A. Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Level I (FAC P/PM-I) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position. B. Information Assurance Management Level II (IAM-II) or management determined equivalent within two years of entry into the position.
