Financial Management Specialist Norfolk, Virginia Summary This vacancy is for a GS-0501-9, Financial Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, HSWL BUSINESS PLANNING MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS DIV in NORFOLK, Virginia. Duties You will serve as a Financial Management Specialist and will be responsible for serving in Norfolk, VA within the Business, Management, Planning, and Analysis Division (Business Cell). In this role, you will assist the Budget Officer in the day-to-day administration of budget formulation, execution, and distribution; equipment procurement and recapitalization; health care staffing and facility construction initiatives; federally mandated program impact studies and audits; and the operation and deployment of healthcare information technology systems. These activities directly support the delivery of healthcare services for Coast Guard operational missions worldwide.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Serves as funds manager for micro purchases ensuring sufficient funding availability. Serves as requisitioner for Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Orders. Serves as Government Purchase Card Holder executing purchases on behalf of USCG. Validates data in accordance with established principles and practices to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepares and organizes accounting data to support briefings and financial reporting activities.
