About this role
Chemist Silver Spring, Maryland Summary This Direct-Hire position is in the Food and Drug Administration and is located in the Center for Tobacco Products, Office of Science, Division of Product Science, which protects the public health of the U.S. population from tobacco-related death and disease. Duties Serves as a Chemist, responsible for performing scientific reviews and evaluations associated with tobacco product marketing applications. Performs reviews and evaluations of chemical studies conducted on tobacco products and tobacco product smoke/aerosol. Collaborates with other scientists to integrate and synthesize chemistry principles and evaluations into final work products. Communicates technical scientific information in a clear manner that non- scientists can understand information contained in rulemaking and guidance documents or other policy documents. Participates in identifying knowledge gaps that require additional laboratory studies in order to better understand tobacco product chemistry.
