Supervisory Physician (Emergency Medicine) Fort Campbell, Tennessee Summary About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. "Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary negotiation MAY be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Duties Provides services of an Emergency Medicine Physician to patients in the Emergency Room. Coordinates admission of patient to hospital with accepting staff physician. Supervises other health care providers as assigned Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Provide technical oversight. Triages, examines, diagnoses, resuscitates, stabilizes, treats or directs a course of treatment for a wide range of emergent patients from the pediatric to the geriatric patient, or from seriously ill to the severely traumatized. Interview candidates for subordinate positions; recommend hiring, promotion, or reassignments. Take disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands. Examines patients and orders appropriate tests to evaluate patients, chief complaint and related complaints; ascertains medical needs and initiates action to provide needed services. Provides professional guidance and direction to physician assistants and physician assistant students working in the Emergency Room. Education See Qualifications section for education requirements.
