Physician (Emergency Medicine)/Supervisory Physician (Emergency Medicine) Multiple Locations Summary About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Duties Provide direct patient care and performs advanced diagnostic and life-saving treatment procedures. Perform patient assessment and diagnosis using patient history and physical examination as well as a variety of diagnostic modalities to rule in or out potential diagnoses to formulate a plan of care. Provide pediatric, adult and geriatric patients with skillful advanced life support, pain management, resuscitation, wound care and medication administration when emergent care is required. Provide consultative opinions to other physicians and auxiliary health personnel when requested. Assist the supervisor with shift scheduling, hospital meeting attendance, policy and procedure development/revision and/or process improvement projects as needed. Participate in the graduate medical education of emergency medicine residents, off-service residents, Physician Assistant residents, medical students and other medical trainees. Participate in or leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, reduce errors and/or optimize departmental efficiency. Supervisory positions may conduct performance counseling's as necessary, write performance standards; recommend and approve awards for employees and identify training and development needs of personnel.
