Physician (Anesthesiology)/Supervisory Physician (Anesthesiology) Multiple Locations Summary About the Position: This is an open continuous announcement. Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed. We accept applications on an ongoing basis; qualified applicants will be considered as vacancies become available. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Duties Provide anesthesia services to all categories and types of patients requiring surgical or procedural intervention. Administer appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks in the treatment of acute and chronic pain. Oversee activity of recovery room and administer appropriate drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting. Instruct nurse anesthesia students, physicians, interns, and physicians rotating through the Anesthesiology Service in the proper administration of anesthesia. Supervisory positions will implement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions when appropriate. Supervisory positions will screen consults to ensure they are in compliance with the Clinical Practice Guidelines. Supervisory positions will make appropriate referrals of patients with complex or unresolved conditions to other specialty/subspecialty clinics as applicable. Supervisory positions will assign performance ratings, approve awards and take performance-based corrective actions. Supervisory positions will select and assign clinic team members; administratively and technically direct the work of subordinates; plan, assign, review and accept, amend or reject work.
