Lead Firefighter (Basic Life Support/Hazardous Materials Technician) New Cumberland Defense Logistics Center, Pennsylvania Summary See below for important information regarding this job. Duties Serve as a fully trained member of a firefighter crew engaged in a full range of emergency services. Drive and operate a full range of complex vehicles and apparatus to include fire engines, ladder trucks, technical rescue apparatus, ambulance, and response trailers, operating onboard systems. Perform Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) duties to include initial and on-going patient assessment and physical examination. Perform offensive and defensive hazardous materials technician duties. Participate in an extensive on-going training program designed and modified routinely to prepare firefighter personnel for all areas of emergency response. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Evaluation The assessments for this job will measure the following Competencies: Emergency Medical Care Fire Suppression Hazardous Materials Response Leading a Team/Project Vehicle Operation Once the application process is complete, a review of your resume and supporting documentation may be completed and compared against your responses to the assessment questionnaire to determine if you are qualified for this job.
