About this role

(Clinical/Critical Care Expanded Functions) Tacoma, Washington Summary About the Position: These positions are located at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. Recruitment or Relocation incentives MAY be authorized. Advance-in Hire/Salary negotiation may be available to candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Duties Deliver advanced, specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients ranging in age from neonate to 18 years. Provide support to physicians during complex and potentially life-threatening procedures, including cardioversion and the insertion of invasive lines such as arterial, venous, and pulmonary artery catheters. Prepare and administer high-risk medications as well as intravenous fluids, in support of initiating advanced cardiovascular life support interventions. Assess patients cardiac output, vital signs, peripheral perfusion, and level of consciousness, and evaluate blood gas results, including arterial and mixed venous oxygen saturation. Assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions based on patient responses and modify the care plan as needed to ensure optimal outcomes. Design Family Nursing Care Plans to support critically ill patients and their families in achieving the highest possible level of physiological, sociological, and psychological. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S.
