Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner-Clinical/Psychiatric) Bethesda, Maryland Summary About the Position: This position is located in the Director for Mental Health, Department of Mental Health Acute and Outpatient Services Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Bethesda, MD. Hours of operation: Monday- Friday 0730 - 1600 This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Duties Provides comprehensive mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. Performs psychiatric intakes, evaluations, and prescribes medications. Educates patients about medication risks, benefits, and side effects; monitors progress and efficacy. Coordinates with primary care and other providers for referrals, feedback, and ongoing care. Maintains accurate records using computerized systems for documentation and coding. Complies with Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety goals, and other quality initiatives. Participates in quality improvement systems and projects. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
