Chief National Processing Center Jeffersonville, Indiana Summary The U.S. Census Bureau is seeking a highly-motivated and capable executive to serve as the Chief, National Processing Center. This position is a Senior Executive Service (SES) General position. Positions in the SES are not graded. SES pay is commensurate with qualifications. SES employees are eligible for bonuses and awards based on performance. Veteran's preference is not applicable to SES. Duties The Chief, National Processing Center (NPC): Directs management of multifunctional Contact Centers in separate geographic locations, as well as the planning, directing and management of the NPC. Has delegated authority from the General Services Administration through the Department of Commerce for the operation and maintenance of the facility where it is located. Participates in the planning and formulation of Census Bureau policy and Census Bureau program and operational systems and procedures, advising in the areas of available and/or anticipated manpower and facilities, program costs, and operational experiences. Is responsible for preparation of accurate cost estimates and budget forecasts for both the immediate future and to meet the long-range budgetary needs of the division. Travel Required: Occasional Travel Description: Travel may be required to attend or present at meetings and conferences on topics relevant to the U.S. Census Bureau's mission. Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. May be subject to pre-employment and random drug tests.
