Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Financial Counselor, you will play a critical role in realizing CommonSpirit Health's mission by assisting patients with the financial aspects of their healthcare journey. This position is responsible for ensuring patients understand their insurance benefits and available financial options, helping them navigate often complex payment responsibilities. You'll work collaboratively with clinic staff and other facilities to ensure efficient, compliant, and patient-centered financial services. Every day you will perform comprehensive financial counseling, including discussing health insurance benefits, billing practices, pre-collections, and setting up payment arrangements. You'll identify potential financial resources like Medicaid, Marketplace plans, COBRA, and financial assistance programs. This includes obtaining pre-authorizations, communicating approvals/denials to clinical staff, providing cost estimates, and assisting patients with charity care or financial assistance applications, ensuring they understand all available financial pathways before treatment begins.
