About this role
Engineer Sr - Systems New London, CT, US Overview Overview Department 489 is seeking a highly motivated experienced individual to support the design and procurement of the COLUMBIA Class Turbine Generator (TG) sets. The prospective D489 engineer will be responsible for the design, manufacture, test, and delivery of the TG sets for the state-of-the-art electric drive propulsion system on COLUMBIA Class submarine. Responsibilities Collaborate with support organization personnel and other engineering disciplines to resolve supplier technical challenges and non-conformances Review of Supplier technical submittals Provide oversight of testing at the vendor facility in Sunnyvale, CA and the compatibility test facility (CTF) in Philadelphia, PA (frequent travel may be required) Participate in technical discussions with vendor(s), Prime contractor and NAVY customers Review internal documentation to ensure that requirements have been met Preparation of technical correspondence to NAVY customers Qualifications Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems engineering or related engineering degree 5 or more years of post-graduate engineering experience Working knowledge in Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance is required Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering with experience with electrical or electromechanical design, and/or Systems Engineering Experienc
