About this role
HVAC Technician Midland, Texas, United States AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected. Summary We are seeking a skilled HVAC Compressor Technician to support plant operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems, with a focus on compressor units and chillers. This role is critical to ensuring optimal climate control and equipment performance across production facilities. The technician will work closely with maintenance and production teams to uphold safety, efficiency, and uptime standards. Responsibilities - Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, including compressors, chillers, air handlers, and pneumatic controls. - Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in HVAC and chiller systems. - Monitor system performance and conduct inspections to identify potential failures or inefficiencies. - Support installation and commissioning of new HVAC and chiller infrastructure and upgrades. - Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. - Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety protocols. - Collaborate with production and facilities teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals. - Assist with emergency repairs and participate in on-call rotations as needed. Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum 3 years
