Sensing Hardware Mechanical Lab Technician San Diego, United States of America Join the Sensing Hardware team and you'll help us create a personal, physical connection for millions of customers around the world. Together, our team will enable our customers to do all the things they love with their Apple devices! Apple's Sensing, Power, and Haptics team, which supports hardware development across all product lines, is looking for a Mechanical Lab Technician who will be responsible for assisting in the fabrication, assembly/disassembly, and design of prototype parts and assemblies. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience operating CNC mills, laser cutters, and 3D Printers, as well as performing mechanical assembly and disassembly tasks. This role engages with technologists, engineers and others in order to push the technology envelope. This role requires strong collaboration skills, a team-oriented attitude, and proficiency working within a job submission system to ensure efficient lab operations and timely project completion. Design, assemble and modify mechanical and electrical prototypes and test fixtures Work to resolve issues and identify areas for suggested improvement Maintain and troubleshoot shop equipment such as CNC's, mills, and 3D printers Maintain machine shop space, keeping it tidy and organized Train users on safe operation of machine shop equipment Supervise and support engineers working in the machine shop Assist lab management team with overall upkeep and support of engineering lab space Actively maintain Health and Safety compliance of lab spaces Minimum Qualifications: Prior lab technician experience and operate and maintain CNC mills to produce
