As an Operations Product Development (OPD) Design Intelligence Analyst you will engage with the Apple Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Marketing, and OPD Product Manager teams to help shape product design & sourcing strategies that enable best-in-class hardware products. In this role you will identify existing and emerging technologies in the consumer electronics market and utilize your knowledge of hardware components, materials, and manufacturing design to investigate novel product and supply chain implementations. You will help influence product feature roadmaps by providing relevant engineering and cost analysis, and by identifying design, manufacturing, and sourcing opportunities. This position requires strong hardware engineering, materials, and manufacturing cost structures knowledge, as well as the ability to leverage interpersonal and communication skills. Ideal candidates will have a natural curiosity about how things work and why. Understand evolving consumer electronic technologies and be able to identify features, manufacturing processes, and materials in collaboration with cross functional supply chain and engineering partners Utilize engineering expertise to model component cost estimates Identify and develop opportunities to optimize architecture, materials, processes, and supply chain for cost Support product feature/implementation scenarios, supply chain investigations, environmental assessments, etc. Provide and maintain aggregate data on industry trends Hold regular executive forums to review architecture
