Field Services Engineer San Francisco, CA | New York City, NY About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the Role Your primary mission is network operations: deploying and maintaining network infrastructure, overseeing smarthands vendors, and owning the physical infrastructure lifecycle from install through decommission. You'll work across sites, travel regularly, and have a direct impact on the infrastructure that powers Claude. Responsibilities - Own network infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and bringup across sites - Oversee outside plant and long-haul fiber optic repair vendors: manage dispatches, validate work quality, and ensure SLA compliance - Execute network device installation, configuration validation, and commissioning support - Own RMA processes end-to-end: triage, swap, ship, track, close - Manage spares inventory and coordinate logistics across sites - Conduct physical asset auditing and cradle-to-grave lifecycle tracking - Coordinate with vendors for outsourced work and hold them accountable - Build repeatable processes and playbooks that scale with the team - Support various site deployments like: rack-and-stack, commissioning, forklift, decommissioning as needed - Travel up to 40 - 60%
