Dawson Mine, located near Moura, is only a 2-hour drive from Rockhampton & Gladstone. It is a large and dynamic open cut steelmaking coal mine operation made up of two operating pits - Central and South. It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland with no signs of slowing down. Dawson Mine is rich in history, it was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963 - join the legacy today! Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Mining Coordinator that will oversee production south operations at our open-cut coal mine at Dawson Mine. Reporting into the Mining Superintendent, you will demonstrate a drive for safety as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills. As an experienced Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Mining Supervisors to ensure operational production standards are met. The Mining Coordinator will support the Mining Superintendents and Operations Manager with mining activities, including planning activities to ensure that overburden stripping and coal mining activities are undertaken in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner in line
