We are seeking an Optics Machinist - Precision Grinding to join our Middlefield Optics team. As an Optics Machinist - Precision Grinding , you will be responsible for crafting ultra-precision optical components into high performance optics that enable world-class metrology and optical systems KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Programs, sets up, and operates CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications and work instructions. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments and grinding machines for grinding angles, contours, lines, and spheres on to surfaces. Interpret engineering drawings, travelers, and optical specifications, translating design intent into repeatable, high‑quality hardware Tests the accuracy of settings and programs; inspect parts using precision measuring tools and software.
