About this role
Director of Engineering Work Location (Country) Canada | Remote/Onsite Onsite This position is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic leader with strategic vision. Priorities include a focus on growing talent and execution against priorities. This role requires significant management experience including the management of managers and individual contributors. This is an in-office position, where the selected candidate will be required to work out of our Waterloo, Ontario office. Responsibilities: Accountable for engineering across the full product lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of products that meet defined functional, cost, schedule, performance, quality, and reliability objective Promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation, encouraging experimentation, learning, and the application of emerging technologies into commercially viable products Articulate the strategic vision and provide inspirational leadership to the engineering team and instill a sense of urgency and intense customer focus. Partner with Product, Manufacturing, Service, Quality, Sales, and leadership to convert company strategy into executable technical roadmaps. Provide clear, concise reporting updates to the General Manager and leadership teams as required. Develop and maintain departmental budgets. Performs other related duties to benefit the organization. We are looking for: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience, Masters or PhD preferred. MBA is beneficial. Background in AI, computer vision/robotics or calibration algorithm
