About this role
Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Redshift Catalog East Palo Alto, California, USA Join us at Redshift Catalog team to solve most challenging problems that come with petabyte scale system! You will be diving deep into the complex interactions between AWS Redshift query processing engine and catalog, solving problems of reliable and fast metadata storage at scale. We need an engineer with good understanding of the distributed systems and ability to ask the right questions to build best in class analytics database engine that is highly efficient and easy to use. You will be working on new features that make Redshift innovative and competitive analytics engine. Key job responsibilities You will be responsible for design and development of Redshift catalog, debugging hard problems, improving performance and availability, mentoring and growing junior engineers. About the team Our team is in charge metadata storage and processing particularly in Redshift and Lakehouse architecture in general. We make sure that it's reliable, maintainable and performant. We put lots of emphasis into automating away operational tasks and focusing on efficiency, reliability and simplicity of the system. We create integrations between Redshift and other services and metadata storage systems, enabling human and programmatic discovery and search of metadata at cloud scale. Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a
