You'll be the strategic bridge between our hardware engineering teams and manufacturing operations, leading the intake and technical scoping of new products while influencing product design at the architecture level. Your core mission: optimize product manufacturability by driving BOM structure decisions and bill of processing design that reduce complexity, accelerate time-to-market, and unlock manufacturing capability investments. You will evaluate new product requests against RMTO's manufacturing capabilities, author technical manufacturing proposals, and directly influence hardware teams' design choices through strategic feedback on component selection, assembly sequences, and process technology requirements. You'll own the portfolio optimization scorecard that classifies products for internal manufacturing versus contract manufacturer (CM) transition, managing the technical hand-off strategy to ensure manufacturing knowledge transfer, quality standards, and operational readiness criteria are embedded in CM contracts before production scale. You'll build the business cases and capability roadmaps to close manufacturing gaps-whether that's advancing our machining capabilities, developing new assembly processes, or investing in emerging manufacturing technologies that give Amazon Robotics competitive advantage.
