This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction. Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Engineer to work on system architectures, product design, and roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system architecture, system design, complex mechatronics, possess good communication skills, and lead system and subsystem architecture definition. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting. This candidate must be able to drive progress from full ambiguity to product design and release to production. Basic qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields • 6+ years of compliance experience fielding industrial robot systems (or equivalent) • Experience supporting engineering change control processes (Agile) • Experience in mechanical design and management • Familiar with industry standard CAD & FEA design tools, industry trends, and design for manufacturability. • Experience with the project management of technical projects • Excellent written (white papers) and oral communication
