Software Development Engineer II, Amazon Shopping Personalization Seattle, Washington, USA Personalization's (P13N) mission is to make Amazon more valuable for customers through relevant and timely product, program, and content recommendations and engaging shopping experiences. We delight customers by discovering the right items for them and making purchase decisions easier. We build systems and technology to enable teams across Amazon to personalize every customer interaction and optimize every aspect of these interactions using our proven techniques. As a member of the Product Similarities team within Personalization, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of product understanding and recommendation systems. Our technical strategy combines product information, customer behavior, world knowledge, and contextual signals through advanced machine learning models and multimodal LLMs to deliver real-time and highly personalized recommendations for hundreds of millions of customers. You will help bring cutting-edge research from theory to large-scale production systems, tackling challenges in performance, scalability, and resiliency. The ideal candidate thrives in rapid experimentation, maintains a high engineering bar, and can drive ambiguous problems from concept to implementation. Experience in areas such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, LLMs, or Recommendation Systems is highly valued.
