About this role

Mechanical Engineer II, RDPI Westboro, Wisconsin, USA The Mechanical Engineer designs automated packaging platforms and supporting systems to enable faster and more efficient delivery to Amazon's customers. The primary role of the Mechanical Engineer is to provide technical ownership and refinement of the packaging platforms and automation systems. Working with the Electrical and Controls teams, the Mechanical Engineer will execute the design and manufacturing of Amazon's in-house packaging machinery and automation. Key job responsibilities - Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects - Collaborate in the mechanical design work-streams, including modeling, load/bearing calculations, and 3D/2D design - Ensure project documentation is complete and scalable for manufacturing - Support safety certification of projects/platforms - Participate in meetings to optimize for customer experience, supply chain, and sustainability About the team Our Hardware Development Engineering team operates in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment working alongside software engineers, controls engineers, data scientists, reliability engineers, and operations teams.
