About this role
Manager, Public Policy, External Engagement Arlington, Virginia, USA Amazon is seeking a Manager, Public Policy to lead external engagement across a large and diverse portfolio of trade associations, think tanks, and nonprofits in Washington, DC. This is a fast-paced role spanning a wide range of policy issues. You will closely with colleagues across the public policy team to align external engagement with business priorities. Key job responsibilities - Build and manage relationships with trade associations, think tanks, and nonprofits across the ideological spectrum. - Design and execute policy campaigns, aligning internal teams and external partners around shared objectives. - Represent Amazon at conferences, coalition meetings, and stakeholder engagements. - Develop talking points, coalition letters, and advocacy materials Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - 8+ years of public policy experience - An ability and desire to travel is required Preferred Qualifications: - Experience building and managing relationships with trade associations, think tanks, or nonprofits or equivalent experience within such an organization managing corporate partnerships - Proven ability to apply political judgment to design campaigns; identifying the right partners, tactics, and timing to drive impact - Ability to translate complex legislation and regulation into clear explanations of real-world impact; on consumers, small businesses, and other constituencies that matter Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
