About this role

Critical Facilities Technician (Shift), Data Centre Engineering Operations (DCEO) Slough, England, GBR Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join our Data Centre Engineering Operations (DCEO) team. In this role you will support the operation, monitoring and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure that powers AWS cloud services. AWS data centres operate 24/7 and rely on highly reliable power and cooling systems. As a technician in this environment, you will perform hands-on maintenance, equipment inspections, and troubleshooting to ensure infrastructure systems operate safely and reliably. You will work as part of a team responsible for maintaining mission-critical equipment including power distribution systems, generators, UPS systems and cooling infrastructure. This role operates on a shift rotation supporting 24/7 data centre operations. Key job responsibilities • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems • Conduct routine plant inspections and equipment checks to ensure systems are operating correctly • Monitor alarms and system performance using Building Management Systems (BMS) and other monitoring tools • Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting across infrastructure systems including power distribution and cooling equipment • Support operation and testing of critical systems including diesel generators, UPS systems, switchgear and cooling equipment • Supervise specialist vendors performing maintenance or repair activities on site • Follow permit-to-work and safety procedures for all maintenance and operational activities • Participate in incident response and support troubleshooting during infrastructure events • Maintain accurate maintenance records and operational logs • Support testing
