About this role
Contaminated Lands Subject Matter Expert, AWS Environmental AMER Programs Team Seattle, Washington, USA AWS Environmental's AMER Programs team is looking for an experienced environmental professional to manage environmental risks and requirements throughout the development and operational lifecycle of data center infrastructure. This role will lead technical reviews of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and brownfield redevelopment evaluations. This role will provide technical expert advice on managing environmental liabilities associated with potential sites. You will partner with AWS stakeholders to develop regional and site-specific development strategies to enable the construction and operation of new AWS data centers and infrastructure. You will lead remedial investigations, remedial design, and cleanup activities, if required. Candidates will have experience successfully delivering Phase I and Phase II ESAs, quantitative environmental risk assessments, and managing site investigation and remediation projects, including brownfield redevelopment. This role requires regular engagement with AWS stakeholders including Real Estate, Legal, Risk, Water, Design, Public Policy, Construction, and Operational teams, as well as external stakeholders including regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors. A successful candidate in this role will have a proven track record of delivering multiple, high-priority projects with tight timelines requiring strong communication with partner teams, outside consultants, internal and external counsel, and regulatory agencies. • Position is onsite. • Up to 25% travel may be required.
