About this role

Aerospace Mfg Engineer, Amazon Leo Kirkland, Washington, USA Project Kuiper is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we've designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. This is a broad scoped position providing manufacturing engineering ownership of multiple mechanisms and assemblies for the project Kuiper satellite program. You will be supporting new satellite mechanisms early in the production phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input and supporting testing of these assemblies, while developing and implementing the plan to move from design/test into build/production. Key job responsibilities - Design space hardware production processes and production lines - Experience with equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualification - Work with supply chain partners to manage critical vendors - Material flow planning and manufacturing process definition with minimal existing definition - Ability to support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysis - Assembly, Integration, and Test takt time & cost optimization planning - Design for Manufacturability review and sign off for design release A day in the life This role
