Job Description: The primary role is to function as a licensed pharmacist engaged in the practice of pharmacy. Position is responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy which includes the preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications as well as the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients and interaction with health care professionals to assure safe and effective medication therapy. This practice of pharmacy may include but are not limited to: patient counseling; dispensing of drugs; monitoring appropriate drug use; providing drug information; ensuring proper documentation and record keeping for all prescriptions; providing information on therapeutic values, reactions, drug interactions and side effects; supervising licensed pharmacy technicians assisting in the practice of pharmacy; complying with Federal, State, and local pharmacy laws and HIPAA guidelines; carrying out interventions when appropriate, noting recommendations in patient notes.
