As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design and develop mechanical systems and structures for our spacecraft platforms. You will own the mechanical design lifecycle from concept through manufacturing and testing, ensuring our hardware is flight-ready and reliable. Embedded Software Engineer Ottawa, Canada At Spaceium, we are building spacecraft systems designed to push the boundaries of what's possible in orbit. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will develop the core software that directly interfaces with spacecraft hardware. You will work on mission-critical embedded systems responsible for controlling hardware, managing data flows, and ensuring reliable operation in the harsh environment of space. This role involves designing, implementing, testing, and deploying highly reliable software on embedded platforms. This is an opportunity to be one of the first software engineers at the company, working directly with the CTO to shape the architecture and development practices for our spacecraft software stack. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute directly to the design, testing, and integration of electrical and electronic systems for our missions. Responsibilities - Support schematic capture and PCB layout for spacecraft avionics - Assist with harness design, wiring, and integration - Help bring up, test, and debug electronic boards and subsystems - Support electrical testing including power, signal integrity, and functional tests - Contribute to documentation, test reports, and design reviews - Assist with lab setup, instrumentation, and test equipment - Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers Basic Qualifications - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field - Familiarity with basic electronics, circuit analysis, and lab instrumentation - Exposure to at least one programming language (Python, C, or C++) - Eagerness to learn and work in a fast-paced startup environment What We're Looking For We're building technology that hasn't been done before.
