CT Technologist Trainee Job Summary The CT Technologist Trainee is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are actively pursuing a career in Computed Tomography. Under direct supervision, the trainee participates in patient care activities and assists with CT technical procedures. The individual in this role must successfully complete all required training and obtain ARRT (CT) certification and/or State licensure (as applicable by state regulations) within the designated timeframe in order to transition into a CT Technologist position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists with preparing patients for CT exams and explains procedures in a courteous and professional manner. Learns proper positioning techniques, immobilization methods, and safety procedures for CT imaging under supervision. Observes and assists with administering contrast media (only after obtaining venipuncture certification and under direct supervision, if applicable). Supports technologists with image processing, PACS transmission, and quality assurance checks. Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines. Participates in educational activities, in-service training, and on-the-job instruction to gain competency in CT imaging. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient procedures. Provides professional and compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process. Completes administrative tasks, paperwork, and data entry as assigned.
