The Waymo Driver powers Waymo's fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states. This role reports to our Charging Infrastructure Program Manager. You will: - Develop and refine engineering designs, specifications, and procedures to eliminate single points of failure across mechanical, electrical, and civil systems in critical facilities (e.g., service centers, vehicle chargers). - Perform rigorous Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on existing and proposed systems to identify weaknesses and quantify risk, providing clear recommendations for mitigation. - Act as the subject matter expert to review all design documents, equipment specifications, construction submittals, and factory test results to ensure compliance with targeted redundancy topologies. - Create detailed Integrated Systems Testing and operational readiness procedures to validate the failover capabilities and resilience of complex, inter-dependent utility and infrastructure systems including Smart Building Automation. - Ensure
