About this role
Production Machinist London, ON, Canada Company Description: Job Description: Unifin International, a Wabtec Company in London, Ontario, was originally founded in the 1920's. We are an electric equipment-cooling company, focused on the power generation and transmission markets. Our primary business is within North America, but we reach worldwide from legacy fossil fuel and nuclear plants to growing renewable energy power grids. Who will you be working with? As a member of the team at Unifin International, you will be working with 3 other machinists in our Machine Shop Department. You will report to the Production Supervisor and work within a group of 41 unionized employees. How will you make a difference? We are looking for a machinist who has the knowledge and confidence to improve our machine shop with today's tooling technology and efficiencies. Our machine shop consists of four (4) Haas Vertical CNC's, one (1) Quickmill Vertical CNC, two (2) large radial arm drills and one (1) conventional lathe. Unifin manufactures a specially-designed product that requires special machining knowledge. The successful candidate will continue improving our machine shop process and help lead the department with 3 other machinists. They will also be willing to take initiative, correct process issues, be energetic with a positive attitude and challenge the status quo with continuous improvement techniques. What do we want to know about you? Able to work as an individual or with other departments to meet customer demands and expectations; Minimum 5 years' experience working in a fast-paced machine shop environment
