Materials Manager Conakry, , Guinea Company Description: Job Description: Material Manager - Guinea Local Job Summary: The Material manager will be responsible for managing the warehouse operations at the customer facility. This includes overseeing all material-related activities, such as forecasting, inventory management, procurement, and ensuring timely availability of materials for locomotive maintenance. The Material manager collaborate closely with material specialists and the technical team to support efficient and effective project execution. This role will be based in Guinea near the port of Morebaya. The operation is 24/7 running two 12-hour shifts. Accommodation will be provided at the maintenance facility. Responsibilities: Material Planning and Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for material requirements based on project schedules, repair plans, and historical data. Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand material needs and ensure timely procurement to meet project timelines Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and customer demand to optimize material planning strategies Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control and management, ensuring accurate stock levels and maximizing cost-effectiveness Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies, including setting reorder points, safety stock levels, and inventory replenishment (parts & reman) processes. Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve any discrepancies. MRP (e.g. Oracle) management inclusion of receiving, dispatching, NCRs and other related activities Warehouse Operations: Oversee the day-to-day warehouse operations, including material receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layout and organization to optimize space utilization and streamline material flow. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)
