Material Specialist Conakry, , Guinea Company Description: Job Description: Position Title: Material Specialist - Guinea Local Scope/Job Objective The material specialist will be responsible for managing the flow of material into the locomotive repair line during our operations at the subcontractor facility. This role involves overseeing all aspects of material-related activities including inventory management, procurement and ensuring timely availability of material for the locomotive repair line. The material specialist will work closely with the materials planner and other project team members to ensure a seamless material supply to the repair line upon request. This role will be based in Guinea near the port of Morebaya. The operation is 24/7 running two 12-hour shifts. Accommodation and meals will be provided at the maintenance facility. Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with technical execution team to fulfil material requests and communicate any issues or delays. Plan, direct and coordinate warehouse activities including warehousing materials from suppliers and distribution of materials to technical personnel. Recommend methods for improving efficiency, productivity and reducing material inventory, while maintaining set KPIs Monitor daily activities and performance of contracted 3rd Party Logistics service providers, i.e.: shipping and freight forwarding. Conduct the morning meeting to prioritize and discuss warehouse daily objectives, coordinate cycle and annual stock counts, and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Picking material according to specified requests, ensuring accuracy and timelines. Receive incoming materials, inspect for quality, and verify against orders.
