About this role

General Operator Marshall, MI SUMMARY: Responsible for tending to metal fabricating machines such as, but not limited to, cut-off saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, sizers, forming machines, spinning machines, and punches that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures by performing the duties and responsibilities as outlined within this job description. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) Produce parts as directed by material control, and or the engineering department so to attain the required production levels and quality. Prep and inspect parts for final production. Run first time production parts as directed and perform Poka Yokes. Participate in job rotation through each cell which addresses cross training and ergonomical issues. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. Position workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blades. Push button or depress pedal to activate machine. Observe machine operations to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Monitor the output of quality parts through inspection, scrap records, statistical process controls, and station control sheets. Measure workpiece dimensions to det
