In 1982, Red Dog was developed through a partnership between Teck and the land-owner NANA, an Alaska Native corporation owned by the Iñupiat of northwest Alaska. The partnership between Teck and NANA ensures real benefits for the local Iñupiat community, while recognizing there is still more to do as we advance our commitment to sustainable practices and meaningful engagement. Role Overview In coordination with the Senior Mine Engineer, the Mine Engineering Co-Op is responsible for mine assignments and projects as assigned by the Principal Mine Engineer(s). They may be assigned duties and/or projects related to drilling and blasting, short-range mine planning and construction projects. This is an 8-month term opportunity beginning in September 2026. The rotation schedule will be 4 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site. Responsibilities: Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and balanced every day Collaborate with engineering and operations for assistance in the development of daily, weekly and monthly mine operations plans Work on diverse tasks connected to mine layout and inventing pit and dump arrangements.
