Logging Geologist Logan Lake Employment Type: Workplace Type: About Highland Valley Copper Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada's largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation. Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences. Role Overview Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Logging Geologist will be responsible for the core shack or their designate. The Logging Geologist is responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate collection of geological data from drill core. The successful candidate must understand how core logging data contributes to the broader porphyry system and how observations feed into resource, geoscience and mill performance models. In addition to these responsibilities, the Logging Geologist will demonstrate strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with the ability to stay organized and effectively prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. As a motivated self-starter, the successful candidate will also support the broader geology team by updating Leapfrog models, contributing to geometallurgical initiatives, and assisting with data management and QA/QC processes.
