Senior Mechanical Engineer – OT/IT Integration Austin, TX, Austin, Texas, United States T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. The Role T1 Energy is looking to hire an engineer that will sit at the intersection of mechanical systems, controls, and digital infrastructure, making sure machines don't just run, but actually talk to each other and to the systems that run the factory. You'll work on a greenfield advanced manufacturing build, partnering with controls, automation and software teams to integrate complex equipment into a cohesive, data-driven operation. What You'll Do - Lead design and review of mechanical systems across process equipment, utilities, and material handling. - Ensure mechanical designs align with controls architecture, instrumentation, and data flow requirements. - Partner closely with Controls and Automation Engineers to integrate equipment into PLC/SCADA and upstream systems (MES, ERP, data platforms). - Support FAT, SAT, and commissioning of mechanical and fully integrated systems. - Troubleshoot issues across mechanical, controls, and data layers, not just one silo. - Work with OEMs
