Robotics Software Engineer Remote, United States About Us: Swan delivers the future of defense and industry through scalable autonomous products. Swan is backed by leading defense VCs including a16z's American Dynamism fund. Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in programming with C++ and Python and have substantial experience working on robotics systems, particularly working with sensor data. Experience in aerial systems, particularly UAV / UAS is strongly preferred. This role requires a hands-on, innovative individual who thrives in solving complex problems and developing real-world robotic systems. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and implement software systems for robotics applications, including navigation systems and aerial robotics systems. - Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C++ and Python. - Integrate and calibrate various sensors (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs). - Process, analyze, and interpret sensor data for real-time decision-making and control. Implement algorithms for processing sensor data. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test robotic hardware and software systems. - Collaborate with external stakeholders, including customers to understand requirements, conduct tests and understand changes and improvements needed to be made. - Optimize system performance and ensure robust, reliable operation in diverse environments. - Debug and troubleshoot system issues to identify and implement effective solutions. Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in robotics software development. - Proficiency in C++ and Python,
