About this role
Quality Inspector (Starship) Westminster, MD SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. QUALITY INSPECTOR (STARSHIP) - Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometer - Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required - Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copies - Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies - Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace parts - Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives - Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings, purchase order(s), industry standards, and SpaceX specifications - Use electronic MRP system to route parts and components to proper departments BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalency certificate - 1+ years of receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experience PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: - Experience operating a forklift or other material handling motorized vehicles and equipment - Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001) - Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields - Experience detecting design and drawing flaws - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5
