ELEVATOR MECHANIC - LEVEL 4/5 We are seeking a highly experienced Elevator Mechanic to join our Facilities and Infrastructure Engineering team at Starbase, TX. This role supports mission-critical operations by ensuring the reliable performance of advanced vertical transport systems, including high-rise, traction, and rack-and-pinion elevators. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership in troubleshooting, and the ability to operate autonomously in a high-paced, safety-focused environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on vertical transport systems, including high-rise traction elevators and rack-and-pinion lifts - Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using diagnostic tools and schematics - Conduct scheduled inspections in compliance with ASME A17.1/CSA B44, state codes, and local AHJ regulations - Lead elevator modernization projects and major repairs in coordination with facilities engineering and vendors - Read and interpret technical drawings, control wiring diagrams, and OEM documentation - Utilize CMMS platforms to document maintenance activities, inspections, and system health metrics - Interface with internal engineering teams and external service providers to support uptime and system upgrades - Train and mentor junior elevator personnel and provide safety briefings during high-risk work - Support emergency and after-hours maintenance operations as required BASIC
