CMM PROGRAMMER (STARLINK) - 2ND SHIFT The CMM Programmer role here at SpaceX is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of CMM programming, GD&T, operations and reporting. This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinists, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase the accuracy and development part success rate of manufactured components from the Starlink development machining area. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include, but is not limited to first article parts, in-process and final inspection on assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings. - Understand GD&T requirements as applied to the engineering drawing and drawing notes. - Spot interpretation issues as applied to dimensions written or evaluation to requirements - Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality. Inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracy - Candidate will be responsible for working in a cross-functional environment utilizing CMM programming software in conjunction with bridge-style machines up to possible 5axis head motion. - Create, maintain, verify, retain, sort and organize all programs created to ensure they are readily available and saved
