Job Summary Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms. We are seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Technician to support sustainment, maintenance, and field operations for our autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). The ideal candidate brings a decade or more of hands-on experience working on boats and marine propulsion systems, is comfortable operating without supervision, and is ready to serve as a technical lead and mentor to junior technicians on the team. Responsibilities • Serve as the technical authority for diesel engine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on ASV platforms. • Independently diagnose and resolve complex diesel engine malfunctions, mechanical failures, and electrical faults, including unfamiliar or first-of-kind failure modes. • Lead overhaul, rebuild, and restoration of diesel engines and associated systems including fuel injection, turbochargers, cooling, and exhaust. • Perform and oversee routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and scheduled PM activities. • Utilize OEM diagnostic tooling (Volvo VODIA or equivalent) and other diagnostic equipment to conduct system-level assessments and repairs. • Develop, refine, and validate maintenance procedures; identify gaps and recommend improvements based on field experience.
